Reflection on Communicative tools

As a student studying to become a teacher, I have learned how important communicative tools of ICT are in modern education. These tools allow people to share information and ideas easily. Some common examples are email, messaging apps, video calls, discussion forums, and platforms like Google Classroom or Zoom. In our ICT class, I learned that there are two types of communication using ICT: synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous communication means people interact at the same time. For example, Zoom meetings or live chats allow students and teachers to talk instantly. I have joined online classes on Zoom where the teacher explains the lesson, and we can ask questions right away. It feels like a real classroom experience, just online. Asynchronous communication, on the other hand, happens at different times. For example, teachers may post lessons, notes, or questions on Google Classroom, and students can respond later when they are free. I found this very helpful, especially when the internet is slow or when students have other responsibilities. I like that I can take time to understand the content and reply carefully.

Using these tools during my course has helped me understand how communication can support learning. I’ve also used discussion forums and WhatsApp groups to talk with classmates, share resources, and work on assignments together. These tools help us stay connected and learn from each other even outside the classroom. There are also some challenges. Not all students have good internet or devices. Some people find it hard to express themselves clearly through messages. But overall, communicative tools make learning more flexible and interactive. This experience has shown me how important it will be to use both synchronous and asynchronous communication in my future teaching. These tools can help reach more students, provide quick help, and build a strong learning community. As a future teacher, I want to keep improving my skills with these tools so I can create a more effective and supportive classroom environment.

In conclusion, communicative tools of ICT have greatly expanded the ways teachers and students interact and share knowledge. By using both synchronous and asynchronous communication, learning becomes more flexible, inclusive, and interactive. These tools help build strong connections among learners, support collaboration, and allow for better understanding at each student’s own pace. While there are some challenges like internet access and communication barriers, the benefits of using ICT tools in education are clear. As I continue my journey to become a teacher, I am committed to learning more about these tools so I can create a connected, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all my students.
